Mission & Vision

We’re the fastest growing educational company in Bangkok, and that’s for a reason. At YPrep Academy, we like to wear many hats, and that allows us to help our students in the best way possible. Our main mission is always to help students reach their best potential.

We are test-prep instructors. We have prepared hundreds of students for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, and TOEFL. Our collective team has spent many years working for various test-prep companies. Collectively, we have over 50 years of experience. In Bangkok, we helped popularized the ACT by being one of the first companies to offer the course. YPrep Academy is THE authority on standardized tests.

We are college experts. The founders of YPrep Academy both graduated from Yale University while gaining admissions to numerous other universities including Harvard, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, and many others. We’re familiar with most universities in the U.S. and we can help students find the right fit for them. YPrep Advisors can help students prepare for the long journey into college from the moment they start high school to the day students fly off to college.

We are educators. At our core, YPrep Academy is an organization of nerds. We love exploring new subjects and seeing how they fit into the world. We completely believe that the more you learn, the more you grow. Whether it’s helping with Calculus, English, or even explaining the limits of Quantum Mechanics, we want students to see us as educators  and coaches who can guide them on a journey of becoming lifelong scholars.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What makes you qualified to help me get into a good school?

Our instructors have graduated from some of the best colleges in the US, and we have helped former students get into elite schools such as Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, Babson, and NYU, just to name a few

As a high school student, which test should I take?

Which test you should take is entirely a personal choice. While the format of the ACT and the SAT are now quite similar, there are differences which should be taken into consideration. However,it is important to note that the SAT is only offered 4 times internationally (plus the June Subject Test date), while the ACT is offered 5 times.

How many times should I take a test?

While there is no actual limit to the number of times you can take each test, there is usually no significant score improvement between the 3rd and 4th times. Thus, we recommend taking the test no more than 3 times. However, with the GMAT test, please be aware that there is a lifetime limit of 8 tests.

Do I need to take the TOEFL?

The requirements for taking the TOEFL differ from school to school. Some schools will accept your SAT Evidence Based Reading and Writing scores, some will require you to take the TOEFL regardless. The best bet is to check with the schools you are applying to.

When should I start prepping for my test?

We recommend that you start prepping at least 6 months before your test date. Obviously, the earlier you start prepping, the better. It is possible to cram and start a test prep course that ends right before your test, but most students will then take the test a second time later down the line.

Is there a lot of work involved with the course?

If you are planning on improving your scores, the best way to do so is to complete all of the homework assigned and come to every class. The average homework load is approximately 1-2 hours of homework for every class session.

Do you do academic tutoring?

While we do offer some academic tutoring, most of those decisions are made on a case by case basis.

Are there any perks to referring a friend?

We offer 2 hours of free tutoring, worth 6,000 baht, for every referral. We will notify you of the referral and your hours will be kept in our system for 1 year.
